Hedge-Laying with Basingstoke Conservation Volunteers

When

29/10/23
10:00 - 12:00

Event Type

At Lamb’s Hill in Worting, BCV will be continuing hedge laying from where they finished off last winter – about 50 metres! They first laid this hedge over 20 years ago, and there is scrub-bashing to be done to gain access along the hedge-line and thinning out poor quality and excess growth prior to doing the actual hedge-laying. Hedge-laying is a traditional method for managing farm boundaries so they are stock-proof. It is also very good for producing a hedge which is very dense at the base, good for small birds to nest in and for lots of other wildlife, so it’s something we wish to encourage. Meeting at the top of Church Lane, Worting, just off the B3400. The what3words are tools.toast.dangerously
