Hatch Warren Nature Group
Hatch Warren Nature Group volunteers have been at the forefront of restoring wildflower rich grasslands in Hatch Warren with 8 sites.

What do we do? A wide range of different work, including coppicing, scrub bashing, seed collecting, and species surveys. We are lucky to support a broad range of butterflies on our sites, including the nationally scarce small blue! Some of the wildflower seeds we have collected include Lesser Knapweed, Cowslip, Kidney Vetch, Field Scabious, Birdsfoot Trefoil, Meadow Saxifrage, and Small Scabious, Yellow Rattle and Rock Rose.
Our main aim is to maintain the meadows that support a range of rare and precious species, including orchids, butterflies such as Brimstones, Peacocks, Orange Tips and Holly Blues, dragonflies and more!
When do we meet? Second Sunday of the month between September and March (10.00am). Ad hoc events are advertised on our Facebook or via our mailing list. Â
Where do we meet? St. Mark’s Meadow, next to St. Mark’s School
St Marks Meadow is set on a bank in front of St Marks C of E Primary School above the junction of Danebury and Woodbury Road
We are a small diverse and friendly group and would love you to join us. Children (until 16) are welcome provided that they are supervised by a parent or guardian.
