BioBlitz 2026

Join Natural Basingstoke for our Beggarwood BioBlitz and help us discover what wildlife is living in the local area.

A BioBlitz is a friendly community wildlife recording event where volunteers, residents and nature enthusiasts come together to identify as many species as possible in a set area. You do not need to be an expert — beginners, families and curious nature-lovers are very welcome.

Throughout the event, we will be looking for plants, birds, insects, butterflies, bees, trees, fungi and other wildlife, with support from local volunteers and wildlife enthusiasts. The records we collect will help build a better picture of local biodiversity and support future nature recovery work in Beggarwood.

There will be guided wildlife activities, opportunities to learn simple species ID skills, and a chance to find out more about local conservation projects and how you can get involved.

Whether you are an experienced recorder or just want to spend time outdoors learning more about nature, come along and help us celebrate and record the wildlife of Beggarwood.
