From our friends at Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust:
With their lush vegetation and abundant animal life, our local chalk streams are havens for moths and butterflies. These colourful creatures light up the landscape, but also have great ecological value. As a food source for birds, bats, insects, and amphibians, they are an important part of chalk stream ecosystems.
For this talk, our speaker will be Ashley Whitlock from the Hampshire and Isle of Wight branch of Butterfly Conservation. Join us to discover the fascinating lives of the moths and butterflies that frequent our chalk streams, and how they support the health of these rare habitats.
This event is part of Watercress and Winterbournes, a Landscape Partnership Scheme that is protecting, enhancing, and celebrating seven local chalk streams. Learn more at www.hiwwt.org.uk/winterbounes
